3D-C MVP – April 2012

Welcome to the ghOst Productions official blog!  Our inaugural post strikes a celebratory note by recognizing the dedication and sacrifice that our team members often make to ensure that our projects move forward in the most timely fashion, without compromising quality.  In the industry of medical animation, attention to detail is critical and production schedules are often tight.  To keep everything running smoothly, we all need to put in extra hours once in a while.  Some put in more than others, especially in our production department: 3D-C.  We didn’t want that hard work overlooked, so we decided to honor the “most valuable player” in 3DC.  This month’s deserving recipient of that title is Bret Farley!

Bret joined the ghOst team with a specialty in character animation but has since shown an aptitude and willingness to branch out into other areas of animation.  Given his studious habits and patient disposition, Bret should be an expert generalist in no time.  Over the past few weeks, he has cracked open the reference books and locked himself in the office, determined to learn the many strategies and tricks used to animate medical devices and surgical techniques.  He already can tell you more than you would ever want to know about such things as simulating soft tissue and the internal structures of the human knee.  But Bret is no bore, he’s genuinely fun to be around.  For all these reasons, we salute him!

So what did Bret’s extra effort earn him? A four-day weekend of paid time off. Rumors around the studio have indicated that he may be spending his vacation getting the ghOst logo tattooed dead-center on his lower torso, though these rumors could not yet be confirmed…
